I read it in 2 hours. It's a good crash feminism book but as a poc/Arab feminist, I could not relate to it. It didn't talk of women of colour and our struggles. It completely ignored the whole notion of poc feminism which is a shame, because it's such a short book and it could have easily done that and gotten 4 stars out of me. It was such a white-cis-straight-woman-explaining-feminism book, which isn't a bad thing, but I got bored of that narrative. It's a nice refresher of information, of course, but otherwise, it was just a fast fun read for me.
And I really don't get why chapter 6 is included in the book.
I'd recommend it to that friend who is skeptical about why we need feminism in this day and age.

This wasn't what I thought it was and that's probably my fault...
What I thought it was: A witty but truthful take on " mansplaining," the origins of the term and how it endures
What it actually was (IMO): A quick word on "mansplaining" and the rest a very cerebral take on the endurance of the patriarchy and feminism
I wasn't prepared to read such a book. I'm not cultured enough to appreciate many of the things she referenced in its pages but that's just me.
