Maxon is quite possibly the best book boyfriend ever. I just love him. And these books. 100/10 reading experience for my buddy reread. Coming back to this world is always so fun!!

Very mediocre series. Pacing was really bad and this plot could’ve easily been done in the first two books and then they could’ve explored their ruling as king and queen in book three. The arguments and rebel attacks were repetitive and boring to read after a while. They could’ve been replaced with more focus on the politics and rebellion especially since we never got a definitive answer of what happened with the rebel? Also I do not ship Maxon and America at all, if you asked me, I think Maxon only stayed with her as a trauma response since he quite literally just lost his parents. Overall I’m not impressed at all .
Book: 1.5/5
Trilogy: 2/5

It would have been a five star, but the ending was wrapped up too neatly and quickly for me, so it lost a star. Still, Cass really did an amazing job with this book. I was extremely disappointed with The Elite so I was really worried about reading this book. But all of my complaints were fixed in this book. An extremely enjoyable book!
