Torn between 2 and 2.5. It's not as good as the first one, from the relationship to the plot of the story.
One of the main reasons Vektal tries to keep Raahosh exiled is because it would encourage others to do the same to other human girls until they're forced to resonate and accept the mate. AND LIZ DISAGREES AS IF THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENED TO HER?? SHE GENUINELY HATED RAAHOSH.

All I'm saying is I hate how Liz feels like she's kind of. Forced?? To like him just because his childhood was bad. You don't have to pookie bear. Ughhhh. Ick.

What It’s About: Picking up right where the previous volume left off, this story showcases Liz, who’s kidnapped by Raahosh after he resonates to her, leading to dire consequences when they return to the alien tribe.

Spice Level: It’s even better this time around, not only because Raahosh is, ahem, the biggest alien boy on the planet, if you get my drift, but because there’s a lot more anticipation this time around.

Realism: I think this was the best place to go after the first book, because it showcases what we as readers were all wondering. What do you do when your choice in relationships is taken away from you? Watching Liz go through the process from being unwilling to skeptical to accepting was a really nice way to deal with that idea.

Trope Alert: This one is all enemies to lovers.

Trigger Warnings: There’s still a fair amount of dubious consent going on in this one.

Liz got on my nerves at times but I’m glad there’s a human in this group who isn’t scared to stand up for herself. Vektal’s punishment for Raahosh was ridiculous but everything was figured out in the end.

Eh; I still enjoyed it & read it in 1 sitting, but I just don't really like Liz.
