My stars are for the illustrations in shades of blue-greens and blues Pretty cool. The overall story is just...meh. The plot is underwhelming, the characters are bland, and not to mention the main character is very whiny.

First Second does it again!! I'm so happy that this book wasn't focused on a coming out story but instead on what it means to be a teenager figuring out what to do post high school. Ari was alright but Hector !!! Oh my god, Hector was so goddamn cute and such a wonderful person.

Also, really impressed with the art. I wasn't sure how I would feel about only one colour being used throughout but it was done in such a magnificent way! There's one frame in particular when Ari and Hector are on the roof that is just so wonderfully done (I think it's that it felt so real and so close to how someone would actually move and act).

Would recommend for those who want a little bit of angst but also a lot of baking and cuteness.

The art was great, but the story was very dull and it didn’t even feel like there was a plot. I also thought the romantic development felt rushed, unrealistic, and unconvincing.

The art was great and the story of a boy that doesn't know what he wants until he loses everything is touchingly told. Totally recommend! This is my second of three First Second graphic novels in the last two weeks and all three of them have been really great.
