There were some character interactions and conversations that were funny enough to make me laugh out loud. I appreciated the midwestern / small town vibes and found the characters to be perfectly believable.
At the heart of the story is a man with intellectual disabilities and his evolving relationship with the main character, Jane, and her family.
I enjoyed many of the small moments in this book. I cackled when the main character decided to bleach the hair above her lip and thought she maybe looked like a sexy Colonel Sanders and her boyfriend assured her she was more of a Pretty Mark Twain.
