First off, this cover is gorgeous. I read Butcher and Blackbird and was such a fan I had to try out some of BWs other books and stumbled upon this. Personally I like B&B better - BUT this was really good, and unique, despite being about 2 serial killers falling in love while competing in murderous antics. The back stories were really well thought out and tense and tied together beautifully in the overall story. This was both funny, and sad, and also thrilling, all the feels.
Theres a lot of TWs for this one… prepare for more food to be ruined too…

I enjoyed it but I also found myself skimming a lot after the 60% mark. Good vibes though.
Easily one of the best books I have ever read. I feel like there aren't the right words to cover how phenomenal this read was for me, so I'll leave it at this:
He broke her ribs. Cracked her god damn sternum. And I want that type of love. READ THIS

ehh, it was an ok read. it felt too long but also the plot was not my favorite. neither mc was too great, but not too bad…
This book was soooooooo good. Like, really good! It's described as giving the same vibes as the Mindf*ck series and I was really worried cause I love that series and didn't think it would live up to the hype, but it totally did.
This book is a mixture of the Mindf*ck series and the show Hannibal. I literally had it play out as a movie in my head as I read it and that's how I know it was good, only the best books do that for me!
The plot is intriguing and keeps you guessing. I don't want to give a ton away except that we basically have two serial killers and romance ensues.
I just really can't say enough without spoiling it. It was just so good. I really liked both characters, I loved that our female main character was super intelligent, independent, could take care of herself, and constantly had the male main character on his toes. I like that the main male character was a typical methodical serial killer, but that became obsessed with our FMC. He was protective and obsessed immediately, but also struggled understanding how he felt and why. I do wish we knew more about him. We knew our FMC's entire past by the end but I feel like our MMC's past was still kinda murky. A lot of things weren't fully explained that I wish were.
The spice is, well, huge trigger warnings. This is a dark romance. So definitely dark themes here. Everything is consensual. But we do have themes of somnophilia, blood play and CNC.
In the end, absolutely fantastic book. I definitely recommend and it will be added to one of my favorite books!

dark
mysterious
tense
medium-paced
After months of being in a reading slump, it's only right that a dark romance brings me back. If you love serial killer romances as much as I do, this book was definitely made for us.
It was absolutely incredible from the plot all the way to the main characters, I am absolutely obsessed with Kyrie. She is everything you would want a lead to be smart, funny, independent and just the baddest chick around. I was routing for her from the beginning so much so I did not like Jake at all (until I saw his POV absolutely being a mess and obsessed with her but then again as he should). But their romance is beautiful especially when we get into the history of their relationship from their first meeting to where they are as people in the present, it just made so much sense that they should be together and I was very scared to see what their dynamic was going to be like when they finally got together. It was nothing like I thought but everything that I wanted. DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON THE EPILOGUE WITH THE AWARD CEREMONY, I SCREAMED.
The storyline gave me a bit of a jumpscare in that second half in the best way possible, the whole investigation and that man who needed to get a grip on reality. He was honestly doing too much, made for a good story but I was ready to jump through the screen every time he showed up because there was no reason he was there at every damn corner. It's a wonder he didn't figure out what was happening sooner but I digress.
I would honestly recommend this book for anyone who loves fun drama-filled romance books (please check the trigger warnings).

Have you ever read a book where you feel like it was written specifically for you? That’s how I feel. Pierced MMC, Somno, dual stalking & serial killers. Literally the perfect combination for me. All the things I go feral for. Not to mention this book was beautiful. The characters are both so obsessed with each other & I ate that shit up.
