Final rating 4/5
First of all, I will read anything Trisha Wolfe writes. She is such an incredible story teller and how she writes intensity is one of my favorite things.
Now for the nitty-gritty of my book opinions:
1) For the first ~30% of the book Kyrie is INCREDIBLY irritating. She's arrogant to the point of looking foolish and every time it switched to her POV, I physically rolled my eyes. Around ~40% we ACTUALLY learn her motivations and it makes it so much easier to be sympathetic to and even like her character. In my opinion, the pacing was a little off and I would have liked to see more breadcrumbs earlier on.
(Note: some of this is I know is a personal bias, as I tend to view things from a D/s or "traditional" *barf* perspective. When it comes to books I want a dominant male and a more submissive female, so straight up, evenly matched competition made me feel off. *I'm actively in therapy, don't @ me*)
2) I have a degree in biology and a minor in forensic science and I'm always so satisfied with the amount of thought and research that is put into the storytelling. I also learned something new which is cool!
3) I love a multi-lingual MMC. The way "lille mejer" as a nickname gave me butterflies was UNREAL.
4) The last 30% of the book was the best, with the last 2 chapters and epilogue getting the most highlights of any book I've ever read. It was fucked up and beautiful and made me feel fucked up and seen
