Fun art, though I am a bit bored with stories with a sister outwitting a brother or brothers.
A good book for reading the illustrations as there are periodic clues of the next obstacle before it is fully introduced. Bo is able to look at the complete monster and find some goodness in each one. Perhaps a good lesson to learn.
I always love the illustration style of Woollvin and this story was amazing and adorable. It reminds me of "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" with the repetition that builds on itself. Wonderful picture book!
Adored this book! Bo is brave and kind and smart, but her brothers say she is too little to go hunt monsters with them. Sheesh … brothers.
Bethan Woollvin turns the typical fairy tale on its head once again! This time, rather than a retelling of an existing story, she creates her own. Love it!
An enjoyable picture book that is also a little unexpected. I really appreciated that this could be used to launch an "othering" discussion with young readers-- I think this kind of book is desperately needed in this strange time. Also, who doesn't love an adorable illustration of a friendly gryphon?
As with other books by [a:Bethan Woollvin|14298443|Bethan Woollvin|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1502319858p2/14298443.jpg], things do not go as expected. I was hugely entertained by Bo's adventures, her encounters with monsters, and her ultimate rescue attempt.
Cute fun picture book about a feisty girl who sets out on her OWN adventure after her brothers leave her out of theirs.
