A very good 3 Stars. A sweet romance story, not overly amazing but it was still a good audiobook! Loved the people who did the voices for Ira and Sophia.
Sometimes you just need to read a sappy love story.
And sometimes you just need to read a Nicholas Sparks book to get back on track with your reading goals.
This is my third Nicholas Sparks book and it is by far my favorite. It is about a young woman, Sophia, who is finishing up her last year in college at Wake Forest. Feeling indecisive on what she wants to do for the rest of her life she ends up falling in love. Luke, a rancher and competitive bull rider, doesn't have much "depth" besides the fact that he is attractive and he seems to always do the right thing, but ladies, eat your heart out because you'll be fantasizing about your own cowboy soon enough.
There is also a sub-story that takes the reader through an old man's thought process when he swerves off the road into an embankment and is left there for a week or so. The reader is introduced to a different kind of love than "puppy love" or "love-at-first-sight" and shown love through a lifetime of marriage. It will really get the tears rolling when you think about yourself at that age and who you want to spend forever with.
Then, there is the art.
That's really all you need to know: New Love, Old Love, Art, A Great Rescue, and Cowboys > Frat Boys.

Another great read by Nicholas Sparks!!! His writing does such a great job of making me want to keep reading! I loved this book although a lot different from the movie, it was still a great read!
I guess its a good thing I finished the book because about half way through I only wanted to give it maybe 2 stars. And that would be being generous.
This book is told from two perspectives: Ira-an old man whose wife passed away 9 years ago and has been in a car accident and Sophie/Luke: Who is a young couple getting to know each other.
The story told from Ira was beautiful. I could feel how much he loved his wife through Nicholas Sparks writing. One can only hope to be loved that much one day...but lets be real..its fiction for a reason. :) But the story with Luke and Sophie was kind of driving me crazy. I hated that couple...so much. They had absolutely nothing in common...now I don't believe that you need to be exactly alike, but there does need to be some similar qualities, beliefs, hobbies, etc. in order to have a lasting relationship and none of that was there. Its not enough just to love someone, they have to be your friend as well. I never believed for one second that their love was important or anything like Ira and Ruth's. Okay I lie...I may have believed it for a second (literally the second it took me to read the one sentence)...

Nicholas Sparks has done it again. Thank you!
This unique love story takes the reader on a journey unlike the ones they been on before. I tired to figure out how the lives of the main characters were entwined. I loved reading each and every word.
I fell in love with Ira and Ruth from the beginning. Their story was so more than an average love story. I liked Sophia and Luke. Their love story was just beginning and pretty easy to imagine how it would flow. The interaction between Ira, Sophia and Luke was brief but profound.
My tears flowed more than once as I read the pages. Real love does exist and it is amazing!
