AMAZING!!!

Review: Just another good old heartbreaker for you to read… It was such a simplistic story, but it was reminiscent of The Notebook for sure. I genuinely loved this one for what it was - a realization that love can and does change the world.

Second re-read of the audiobook:
I haven't really been reading in 2022. I've gone through a habit of reading maybe one or two new books and then rereading a bunch that I love and The Longest Ride ended up being one of those books too. I don't think this book is a particularly good book but it has become one of my comfort read books. I don't think I would recommend it but I used to love it when I was a teenager so because of that it holds a place of comfort in my heart.

First re-read of the audiobook

This book used to be one of my favourite books. I went through a stage of only read Nicholas Sparks books and spending some of my pocket money on his books. I went out of this phase and have slowly gotten rid of quite a few of his books, but this was one of the four that I kept. I had not plans on rereading it anytime soon, but then it was on sale on Audible and I bought it on a whim. I'm glad I did because now I can unhaul my physical copy now that I have it on audiobook. Especially because after the years have gone by, I just don't like this book as much as I once did.

Rereading it made me realise that the plot is rather slow. It basically two separate love stories which connect at the end of the book. I think as a result of this the love stories are not as strong as they could have been as you would need to change perspectives every few chapters which would hinder the pacing and plot development.

I did like the character but I also felt like they weren't developed. They had some background stories and we gain some understanding to their motives in life, but I felt like by the end of the book we didn't truly get to know the modern couple of Sophia and Luke. With Ira's love story you knew that he always did and will love Ruth as she was his life.

Overall, I didn't mind rereading this book. I don't think I will reread it again however. I do have it on audiobook though if I change my mind. I wouldn't recommend it though as I think that it's quite a slow story, and there are better romance books out there.

SUCH a sweet love story! I really wish I had gotten around to reading this before watching the move so that I could’ve been a bit more surprised by the ending. Nonetheless, I am in love with Luke.

A wonderful romance

This book was a real treat...two stories intertwined made it doubly enjoyable to read. And finally, a Nicholas Sparks novel that has a happy ending! I would definitely read this again, and am hoping the movie does the book justice.
