I have always been a fan of Nicholas Sparks books. This one did not disappoint. Two stories are told here. First there is Ira who looks back on his life with his wife, Ruth. Then there is Sophia and Luke, two young adults that fall in love. I really enjoyed how the characters all come together and the interesting twist at the end of the book.
Read this to the wife. Best one of his novels in a while.

I suppose this is why I keep reading Nicholas Sparks novels. You read a handful whose endings make you hate yourself to find the one that gives you hope. It has a beautiful ending. The way it shifts between the two couples stories is off putting at first but the way they come together in the end makes everything worth it.
