This book was just ok. The ending felt rushed and it was pretty predictable.

Listen: do I think these books are like...objectively good? No. Did I read six of them in a row though? Yes, yes I did. I really enjoy the world, the mysteries themselves are often really fun, and I like the main female character and a lot of the side characters, but I have a hard time with Jack's character sometimes. The weretiger stuff? Fantastic. His overbearing-ness and overprotective-ness? Bad. If you're into alpha heroes, you'll probably like him, but I have quite a hard time with him. And yet, I kept reading??

The touch

Tess has a gift that can foretell how a person will die by just touching their skin. For me I prefer not to know how I will die but when. Tess happens to get the attention of a hunky tiger shapeshifter that falls in love with her almost immediately. He will protect her with his life. Absolutely a great fast easy read.

Decent book for a free mystery on Amazon Prime. Jack was my favorite characters but I didn't particularly like Tess. I don't usually read murder mysteries so I was surprised when I figured it out. But it was still entertaining and ended well. I don't have a desire to continue the series though.

Finally Jack is back in his own book.

I loved the Atlantis books, I must have read them all through a couple of times at least and I always liked Jack, and I'm glad we get the continuation of his story in his own book. That's not to say you need to have read the Warriors of Poseidon books to enjoy this, you can just dive right in and enjoy the humour, mystery and heat in this book.

Both Jack and Tess are well thought out, well rounded characters with just that touch of mystery that makes you want to find out more. Once I started this book I was addicted. Who needs sleep when you can read?

My only gripe is that it's short, but that's me being selfish because I want more Jack, and more Tess, and more Jack and Tess. In conclusion if you like mystery, romance and well rounded characters this one's for you.

This story was exactly what I was looking for - something interesting that allowed my brain just take a breath. I'd call this a poolside read. The characters are cool, the story keeps you turning the pages, and, beyond that, it's good fun.

Wow...

I really wanted to like this book, but I just couldn’t. I did not really care for Tess and honestly thought Jack was a bit one dimensional.
