A Marriage pact. Loyal, protective and possessive. Lost loves and jealous ex’s (or non-ex I guess)- What’s not to love?

Suzanne Wright, I am begging you to keep writing contemporary romances because it will be an insta-buy for me.

I absolutely LOVED The Favor so imagine my surprise when I found out this was a follow up with Vienna and Dane's daughter?! I was so shook. NOBODY TOLD ME ABOUT THIS. This had very similar vibes to The Favor without the financial gap and it was a great read. The chemistry was there and the spice scenes were HOT. Dax had the total alpha vibes that Dane has (which was hilarious to read their interactions) and Addie was super loyal. I was initially concerned that the whole "you're both in love with past ghosts" would be the main angst but it wasn't! I'm not a fan of that trope but it's very lightly touched on and only really discussed in a couple key scenes. Dax was so committed to Addie that it felt like a huge relief that both were fiercely as loyal to each other.

If I had to compare the two, I slightly prefer The Favor because I found it to be a little more intimate and it flowed better. The Pact was an amazing follow up but I found the pacing to be a bit slower overall.

It was good, but with Dax’s POV it would be 5 ⭐️

Dax & Addison: I loved them from the start! 5 Stars!

Another hit from Suzanne Wright! This book was fantastic!

In THE PACT, we meet Addison (Addie). A savvy businesswoman who owns her own event planning business. Addison comes from a very wealthy family, but she doesn't let it define who she is. In the past, her wealth has been an issue with the men she's dated. Just when she finally thought she had found her HEA, her fiancé passed away and her latest attempt at a relationship ended when her boyfriend returned to his ex-wife. (Boo!)

Addie finds herself still single. She yearns to have a husband and family of her own and the older she gets, the more she feels her dream moving further and further away from her grasp. One fine day, she is contacted by her old flame, the drop-dead sexy, morally gray Daxton Mercier (Dax), a past paramour whom she experienced her first time as well as many other wonderful "firsts". After amicably parting due to Addie's desire to have a family, Dax finds himself ready to commit to a marriage and wants his bride to be Addie. His reasoning? A pact they once made: if they were both single by the time Addie reached 30years of age, they would marry. Dax expects Addie to keep her word and honor the pact.

This was such a fun, spicy read featuring two strong, very likeable characters. We see Dax and Addie transition from a casual fling to close friends to lovers and we readers are fortunate to ride along shotgun for their sensual journey. This was one of the best grumpy/sunshine books I've read in such a long time! I wish it were longer!

The secondary characters were so rich and well-developed, I hope that there will be more wonderful books born from this book. Wonderful read!

Happy reading!

She writes, I read.
She's one of those authors who are automatically pre-ordered. Her stuff is just that good.
This book was no exception.

The couple, Dax and Addison, had so much chemistry my Kindle was fuming. Let's start with Dax.
That man has a mouth on him. Literally, the second he appeared he was making Addison (and me) blush. Sure, he could at times be a block of ice, but a real pretty one. I enjoyed how he grew to trust and care for Addison and Gypsy (that cat needs therapy).

Now Addison. She is just that girl; strong, confident, regal, sweet, blind-to-any-illegal-stuff-my-hubby-does... the list just goes on. The relationship she has with her family, especially with her sisters is so sweet, and the one she grew to have with the boys as well.

This book was too short, I would have read 100-200 more pages of them just being happy and doing mundane stuff, but oh well, I can always re-read it (it's going to happen for sure!).
