I picked up this book without reading the synopsis and was pleasantly surprised. The blend of mystery and horror was fantastic, and the story moved along at a compelling pace. The characters were intriguing and held my attention, though I felt the romantic element was a letdown. What was labeled as a romance felt more like a one-sided relationship.

How do you masterfully weave gothic literature, paranormal romance, fantasy, and mystery into one beautiful story? This is how. Also, I’m tragically disappointed at how not ONE person has mentioned that this is a Secret Garden retelling with a small dash of Phantom. This book is stunning.
