I loved this book from beginning to end. Starting it at midnight was probably not the best of ideas, but it was totally worth it. I couldn't put it down. It was just what I needed. Fluffy, funny, touching, and sweet. A great romance.

Cute. Low stakes rom com that actually had flaws for both main characters, not just one completely perfect love interest which can be boring as hell. A lot of fun side characters which I really liked because I’ve read other books in this genre have literally one friend or family member outside of the main couple. The ending lost me a bit but overall enjoyable and fun and I did immediately start the second one.

“I think it’s usually better to face the world as it is. The more we try to hide from something, the more power we give it.”
Boyfriend Material was sweet, snarky, and all-around enjoyable. I really loved this brand of humor—it was very out-there in a way that definitely paid off, hitting the mark for me almost 100% of the time.
Luc and Oliver were really engaging MCs. I really appreciate how they each grew over the course of the book, and they had a great dynamic. All of the supporting characters were spot-on as well—Luc's mom was hilarious, as was his friend group and work friends.
Two tiny things: There was a lot of on and off between Luc and Oliver that I feel like could have been trimmed down juuuust a little; it made the pacing of the story a bit weird. Also, as someone who doesn't eat meat, the whole vegetarianism x bacon thing just... didn't sit right with me. I don't know if that's me being *pretentious*, but I just didn't feel like it made sense for Oliver to throw everything out the window because he was upset at his family. Yes, he was going through it, but bacon? Really? Lol. Idk. It just felt like an insensitive way to treat that part of Oliver's character. But then again, maybe I'm being overly sensitive about this. Maybe it's not that deep.
Anyway, besides that part, this was a fun time. A+ for the audiobook—the narrator's accents and delivery made the whole experience really enjoyable.
