I made it to 65% and I got over them still fake dating and not realizing their feelings for eachother Oliver and lucien were bugging me because yes everyone in their circle knows they’re fake boyfriends but I was getting irritated over it screaming just shag and get together officially I couldn’t keep going it was not keeping me entertained
3.75/5
I LOVED listening to the audiobook for Boyfriend Material. It made the experience all the more special. If I was reading a physical copy, I could see some parts that I would’ve gotten bored at while reading. Luc and Oliver are delightful characters and their stories really shine through in Hall’s writing. Some of the side character conversations could have been cut because they seemed to drag on for far too long.

Imo a very predictable book, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Unfortunately I had no strong feelings while reading. That leaves a bland aftertaste.

En bog jeg ikke kunne lægge fra mig. Jeg troede den var overfladisk fast food, men havde mange gode humoristiske sider og et ærligt billede af at være menneske. Stor anbefaling herfra!
Alexis Hall is an extremely witty and fun author. His writing style and characterization of Luc and Oliver made my favorite implausible romance trope easy to get invested in, to the point that I got so overwhelmed during the breakup scene that I had to put the book down, and my roommates asked if I was okay. I was okay, but only after the incredibly sweet conclusion of the story. I adored this book.
I loved Oliver and Lucien’s relationship they were really cute and grew with each other so much. However i was really disappointed that we didn’t get an epilogue or anytime of them happy at the end it felt so unsatisfying and i know there is a sequel but i’ve heard bad things. I also thought there was so much unnecessary dialogue that was so cringe and annoying I skipped at least 20 pages of this book that were totally useless. Oliver and the hurt comfort were the only redeemable parts of this book.
