3.5

Utterly preposterous but a good read anyway

Poppy is grabbed, when she finds a smuggler's cave. Captain Andrew Rokesby is know as a reckless privateer, but also quietly transports things for the British government. He is leaving for an important trip for Portugal when he finds a woman tied up in his cabin.

Maybe more of a 3.5, but it was a nice reading escape so I rounded up.

3.5/5 Stars

This book was a fun read once I got into it, but I think it took a little too long for that to happen. The beginning dragged for me. Thankfully, it picked up in pace towards the end.

I will say- I adored the hero. So far, I think Andrew's my favorite hero of the Rokesby series (but I had a feeling I would think that because I loved him since he was first introduced in Because of Miss Bridgerton). Poppy was also a good character but she isn't that memorable. And their romance was... what you'd expect. Nothing special about it, but their banter was really fun to read.

Overall, this book is a good read if you love the Bridgertons. Otherwise, it's just okay.
