“It takes a different hero to help without a mask.” is probably one of the best quotes i’ve ever heard in a super hero comic book. this book was funny & incredible & the artwork was gorgeous. i cannot wait to read the next one.

This was a decent comic. Coincidentally, I am writing this as I wait in line for signatures from its two main creators here at Comic-Con.

This is some pretty traditional modern comic storytelling, but I appreciated that instead of participating in the typical trope of "this city is rotten to its core and by the end of the book nothing I do will actually change that at all", the characters' actions actually seemed to *matter* and have a tangible positive impact on the fictional city.

The writing and plot are pretty generic, but not bad. The art, however, is especially good and Redondo leans into some really clever styles like displaying actions as if they are in an airplane safety manual, or doing wide panels of Nightwing progressing from one action to another. This book is a joy to look at.

I like that Batman is referenced many times in this book but he is not the focus and doesn't show up to interact directly. I also love so much that the Bat Family has a group chat.

Overall I'd recommend this book, even if it's not mind-blowing. If you want to read a super hero comic but don't know where to start and are afraid of picking up something of questionable quality, this is a very safe and decent place to get a feel for traditional modern superhero comics.

EDIT: Apparently this didn't post yesterday. I am no longer in line.

First real entry to Night wing - fantastic!

I've never read a core Nightwing story but I do love me some Dick Grayson. I loved his short-lived run as Batman. How he's differentiated from Bruce and the other heroes is so.refreshing and makes him so wonderful to read. This volume is great and feels a bit like Fractions Hawkeye run. I'm hungry for more!
