LJ knows how to write a story! An intriguing, can’t get enough story. This one has some twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting. The parents, didn’t like them. Hated what Aisling had on her shoulders most of her life. Some unrequited love. Some heavy emotions. LJ knows how to write these alpha holes who we fall for.

i'm probably gonna lower my rating later bc there was a lot i didn't like (ash was so judgmental of other women and sam just took himself so seriously that i strained my eyes from rolling them too hard) but i just adore a classic spoiled girl, hardened-by-life guy pairing, so this was fun.

one star off for just a whole load of misogyny and some VERY questionable mental health rep.

if u can get past the relentless slut shaming and general sexism, i think you'll love this one

Just like everyone else, I was insanely excited to finally get Sam’s story and I was not disappointed! Aisling and Sam’s story was so addictive and had so many swoon-worthy moments that I couldn’t put it down.
It was great to see Aisling and Sam’s relationship develop throughout this book, as we saw the characters mature as their relationship progressed. Although Aisling’s behaviour did make me cringe a few times, this definitely got better as the book went on and she began to stand up for herself. I was however slightly disappointed by the fact that there really weren’t many scenes of Sailor, Persy, Aisling and Belle together, their friendship is one of my favourite parts of this series so I definitely wish there was more friendship content, especially considering the series is named after the girls’ friendship group.
Overall, this was an enjoyable romance which had me swooning throughout. Definitely my favourite Boston Belles book so far!

I read it two weeks ago...I can't remember what it was about. But I vaguely remember it was entertaining.

(2.5) All men can’t be Cillian

If Sam Brennan were a real person, he’d be one large walking, talking red flag. But he’s not. He’s fiction, and I don’t mind red too much in fiction.

In The Monster, author LJ Shen has once again written a compelling romance with a morally grey, alpha hole hero and a strong, smart heroine. While Sam wasn’t my favorite hero, I liked Aisling fairly well, and I really enjoyed the plot of this one.
