Aisling and Sam had SO much potential - but it fell kinda flat for me?
I was expecting these two to be the superior couple in the Boston Belle’s series but they didn’t even get close.
This wasn’t the book I had been looking forward to, and the ‘mafia’ elements were a let down. To go from Troy Brennan to this? Aisling wasn’t the strong, female character that we were promised, and Sam definitely wasn’t the monster.
Moments with Sailor, Hunter and the gang were the main highlights for me. I guess I’m just sad because I had such high hopes for this book, and it just let me down.
Updated to 2 stars because the more I think about it, the more I’m disappointed.

The Monster was one of my most anticipated book of 2021. I have been waiting for Sam's book ever since he was introduced in Sparrow & The Hunter. And I'm not disappointed. It was worth the wait.
The story started of with this big prologue from both Sam & Aisling pov. It had me hooked from the first sentence. It was really so hard to read abt wt Sam went thru as a child (I wanted to wrap him in my arms n protect him from the world

Wow this was one of my favourite yet!!!!
Sam is broken inside after being neglected and abused by his drug addict mother as a child so its no surprise he grows up to be Bostons best fixer within the mob. Sam works his way up to underboss and swears he hates all women but why is it he can't seem to stay away from Aisling Fitzpatrick. Theirs is a road thats been entwined since they were both young.
Aisling has always been secretly in love with Sam, despite him being paid a pretty penny to stay away from her by her family but Aisling knows what she wants and Sam makes her feel like she has confidence and control of her life. What will it take for him to see her as anything different than "little Nix"
This story blew me away with how good it was. I was invested in the characters from the start and felt so sorry for Sam and really wanted Aisling to be able to thaw his frozen heart! This book has plenty of twists and turns along the way, along with those steamy scenes we have come to love and expect from L J Shen, this book will become your new favourite! It has mine!!!

Sam Brennen is by far my favorite out of “Boston belles” guys. Perfect combination of Kill and Hunter. Right in the sweet spot
fast-paced
Started off okay and then deteriorated into something that felt like a 13 yo wrote it.
Very cringy writing and the plot was building up into something interesting but fell flat and then it wasn't even touched on again.
The main characters don't mesh well and the female lead is unbareable and written poorly.
The whole felt like something from wattpad.

Sam and Aisling are that couple you just can’t get out of your head. The rich girl and the monster. The case of the girl taming the monster. It was done well and I enjoyed watching their story evolve. Ash eventually grew a backbone and Sam was thrown for a loop, but Sam never loses. Ash was playing a game with her monster that she lost from the first moment in the amusement park.
