Can't believe I'm 20 years old and am just now picking up Cassandra Clare.😭 I kid you not, I'd never heard of her or these books until I started being active on the book side of social media. I heard this was her best series, and I heard that I don't have to adhere to that long reading order if I don't want to, so ergo I just jumped into this series.

Now, I will say I did watch the Shadowhunters show growing up, so entering this world wasn't hard to grasp at all. Honestly, I feel like because this is an urban fantasy with many elements that we're all familiar with already, it wouldn't be hard to grasp the worldbuilding.

Overall, I enjoyed the book; however, I will say this story is very, very SLOW! Like I was waiting for it to be picked, and I got to the 150-200 page mark and realized that this book is just very slow-moving and has slow pacing. It was interesting enough for me to continue (I'm also buddy-reading it with someone, so that was also my motivation to finish). And it does get more interesting as the story goes along. It went from a 3.5 to a 3.75 to me. However, things go to HELL after the 400-page mark, and my face was just like "😱" the entire time. The drama was drama-ing. I can't believe I didn't see it coming. The lore is about to cook. Those last 76 pages bumped this up to a 4-star for me.

William rejecting Tessa like that was crazy! And not gonna lie, I like William, but I'm already team Jem because I don't have the patience for grumpy men with tortured past, so that's why he's terrible with the fmc trope. I know this came out in 2010, but it's still such a tired trope. I don't care if I'm the only one, I will always root for the guy that treats the fmc well from the get-go.

The high rating is due to me being incredibly biased since this is my favorite book from when I was a teenager, but also it’s incredible still. No notes.

Are we just going to ignore the fact that Will told Tessa, that because she kissed him, he can basically have sex with her whenever ???????????????

I really loved the storyline of this book and the characters, especially Sophie. Also, it is so much better than The Mortal Instruments, where I had to force myself to keep reading some of the books. Clockwork Angel actually got me so addicted that I accidently spent a whole night reading and didn’t sleep. Whoops. (Don't do that, though, guys, it's not healthy...).

i’ve been feeling myself slowly start to drift away from YA recently, but i have got to say Cassandra Clare might have changed my mind !!

i loved everything about this book—the writing, plot and characters were absolutely wonderful, and i am so glad to finally discover this universe after having only watched the Netflix TV show. i will definitely be reading Clockwork Prince as soon as i’m able to get my hands on it !

- e o will nao tirou a virgindade da irma do lightwood
