I absolutely love this! I was meant to start reading this as a book on the side but I’ve sped through it! The characters are so well written and it genuinely feels time accurate.

not as good as the mortal instruments idk

oh my lord, this was such a good book. I thought it did a great job of introducing the reader to the shadowhunters' world. As someone who has already read the Mortal Instruments, I loved how many easter eggs there were, for people who read the prequel series second. I think that anyone who enjoys fantasy and some romance will love this book.

In short? This book consist of FEELS. Its pages are filled with words that awake knots of conflicted feelings in the reader and as the plot thickens, characters' mysteries pile up and the tragedy takes its toll. I'm deeply moved by its everything, madly in love with William Herondale, endeared by Jem, hooked on Magnus. And above all? I can't deal with said FEELS.
I'm totally and irreversibly in love with Clockwork Angel. Also, I had the best kind of introduction to this book, thanks to my amazing twitter friends. <3 THANK YOU. And I recommend it to everyone who enjoys fantasy and tragic love triangles.

its been 3 years since i first read this, and every reread brings me strong waves of blissful nostalgia. this book makes me laugh and cry, and the found family in this book will always have a home in my heart. The love that will, tessa and jem share for one another is indescribable, and truly sets up the most beautifully written love triangle ever ❤️

I LOVE IT! At first I was a little hesitant but now I can confidently say it's one of my favorites!

Amazing. Just one word: Amazing.

i really really like this book. it didn’t get five stars for me because i think it was just missing a little something. this book is more plot driven than character driven, so if that’s something you’re into, you’ll like this book.

i really enjoy the setting of this book in london, i know this is stupid but i spent like half of the book trying to switch accents in my head and it was super distracting. i’m so glad i stopped that and just read it normally. i love how much this book overlaps with characters in tmi.

at first when it talked about tessa changing, i thought she was a werewolf but i was obviously wrong. i think the concept and mystery behind who she really is is really cool. i do like tessa as a main character because she doesn’t make dumb decisions without thinking... unlike someone we know. i love will herondale. in this book he’s pretty mysterious and there’s a lot more to learn about him. but i love him just because of the fact that he’s related to jace. i know that we’re only going to know more about his character and i’m really excited for it. i think jem is so sweet and his illness is really unfortunate. i hope they find a cure for him. i know that there is a love triangle between jem will and tessa, but i’m pretty sure she’ll end up with will, the mysterious boy. it seems pretty obvious, but i don’t know what’ll happen in between. will seems to be pretty temperamental, kissing tessa and then pushing her aside and saying cruel things to her. there must be something deeper there. i didn’t really like jessamine. she’s rude to tessa and her ideals of being a woman are super sexist. i think this serves a good reminder of the time they’re in however. magnus was one of my favorite characters because we’ve seen him in tmi. it’s comforting to have a familiar character in a book like this. i thought church the cat being immortal was really funny. so weird that jem randomly brought it back to the institute but i loved it.

the plot of this book was SO GOOD. i was not expecting mortmain to be the magister. and how could nate turn on his sister like that. i truly was not expecting it. the way that tessa saved herself was genius. there’s really nothing to say about the plot but genius. everything was perfect.

it did take me a bit to really get into the book, and at times i had to push myself through to continue reading. however, looking back the book was really amazing. looking at it by itself, i really loved it. but i liked clockwork prince more.
