Everything I said about the first one, but even more convoluted and dark

A lot just seemed like coincidence but it was really fun getting back in to series and finding out the history of unwinding.

Storyline continues to keep me riveted but the writing is a bit choppy.

I'm amazed I was able to keep putting this down to keep up with other books in my challenges as once I dedicated time to it this was highly addictive. It was interesting to watch as things alluded to in the first book came to passage and hints dropped early in the book took shape. There were twists, turns and shocks that kept my turning pages!

It did read as an unintended sequel with reworked kinda forced plotlines, but still interesting enough to see where the story continues too

I'd give this closer to a 3.75. It was still good, but I think I liked Unwind better. Starkey's story seemed a lot like a re-hash of Connor at the beginning and then he just made me mad haha.

very hunger games mockingjay-esque, especially with the whole risa being forced to stand for the very thing she hates most. but overall was a good read and i’m excited to start the third! looking forward to seeing how cam’s character arc changes.

It definitely felt like a middle book, just because there's so much left unfinished. I stayed up late to finish this and everything. Ah well. Not as good as the first one, honestly, but still a consistently solid read. There's a lot of great set up that I sincerely hope pays off. The twists at the end of the first book threw me for a real loop, and I'm itching for more of that Shusterman style. Here's hoping it's another late night page turner I can get behind.
