I am loving this series! Neal Shusterman really has a way of making me hate a character (Starkey) and a society as a whole! I love these characters and I am so here for their revolution! Can’t wait for book 3!

I thought this sequel would not live up to the first one as it was realeased 5 years after, but the story, the characters was just as good.
Absolutely love how we still follow the original three from Unwind, and still get to know new ones. Cam and Miracolina are my favourites. Cam who is a product of unwound body parts as a scientific experiment, and Miracolina who was made to save her sick brother and if her brother was saved she would be “sent” back to be unwound as a promise made to god to fulfill her purpose of saving other sick people.
Both their stories are so interesting and worth reading this book for.

This book... THIS BOOK! Stunning! Fantastic! Incredible!
There are different POVs and different stories of Connor/Risa, Lev/Marcus, Starkey/Connor, Lev/Miracolina, Risa/Cam. Their interactions are interesting to read, especially I loved Lev/Miracolina and Connor/Risa.
New characters are introduced, all interesting to read about, all colorful personalities to enjoy. Starkey , the one I hated, cunning, sociopath Unwind. Miracolina , a tithe, annoying at first, which then I loved through the book. Cam , a human being created with unwound parts, with different kinds of emotions to deal with, trying to be accepted by society and loved by Risa. All these characters, which Neal Shusterman created masterfully. Even The evil ones like Roberta and Stanley.
The plot is exciting and more emotional than the first one, with lots of memorable quotes and thoughts. The morality discussions, the ethics which are hard to determine right and wrong. No black or white, but gray through the book.
Lev is the star of this story! Lev is the most beautifully developed character here, Lev is the one suffered and yet became his kind self. I love the main three characters and Lev shines in this one the most.
The twists and turns of the story made it hard to put down. I loved the way the history of unwinding came to light, and the way plot thickened. I am anxious to read the next book, to find out how Lev and Connor doing, what happened to Risa, what Starkey and Cam will do next to accoplish their goals.
And I want to see the downfall of Unwinding... For once and all!

I just finished this book. I had resolved to write my review in a few days, I like to let the book sink in for a bit before reviewing, but this goddamn book won't get out of my head.
Admittedly, this book was not as good as Unwind. But I read Unwind and then dove right into this one without a break.
I loved the way Shusterman alternated between, not only storylines, but different characters within the storyline. Most authors will give us a shocking discovery and then jump to a completely different plotline in the next chapter, but Shusterman jumps between different characters in one interaction. Absolutely genius.
I spend my work days reading, since I don't usually have enough "real work" to do. This book took 2 full days to read and I barely noticed the time flying by.
The way the author captures the personality of each individual, without letting them merge, without losing the story to senseless babble is amazing.
And then the moments... the big moments where something completely life-altering happens. He frames those so perfectly.
Then there are the deaths.
This book is commendable. I can't wait for the next.

Spoiler
Each character that dies is given their own individual accounts of the incident. We follow Trace through his drowning, which is said to be the most horrible way to die, and we know his feelings, his experiences, his coming to terms with the way in which he is about to die. This book is commendable. I can't wait for the next.

A good continuation to the series. Looking forward to seeing where it goes from here, and to reading the interquel before this.

I almost gave this second book 3 stars, a star lower than the first book's rating. My frustration over Risa's unwise decision was so palpable I started to question why I liked her in the first book. But maybe I shouldn't judged her too quickly. It was a mistake on her part and I was glad that she made up for it in the end. It came to me how essential her not so great decision was to build a great story. Aside from that, I have no other problems with this book. The additional characters and their respective roles gave so much life to the story. Even all the villains, as much as they're so infuriating, they're effectively made to give us exciting story bumps once in a while. Well, maybe more often than once in a while. But they made the book more unpredictable just as much as the main characters did. That was why despite having a thought of giving this one a rating of three star, it was still a solid 4 stars. Definitely a solid rating.
It started off really well. I liked that despite having multiple perspective even from some minor characters, it didn't lead us away from the fact about who the real main characters were. I loved both Connor and Lev. Their character development is what I loved the most about them. I was so glad of their reunion after being apart for almost the whole book. The fact that the Akron AWOL and the clapper who didn't clap, the martyr and the patron saint, would join forces is something I would love to see. I'm waiting for this duo since the first book and I'm glad that there's a possibility of that to happen.
I have so much anticipation for the next two books. I can only imagine how much more the main characters are going to encounter before the end of it all, or even if they are going to reach it at all.

I am so glad Mr. Shusterman has come back to the kids at the Harvest Camp. The morality of "unwinding" is now in the spotlight but the kids are on the run creating secret organizations to fight back. There is also an experiment being being carried out where they create a teenager out of only "unwound" parts. Will the kid be "normal" or will all the unwound parts have devastating affects? Can't wait for the next book!!
