Ugh I wanted to love this more than I did. Sign me up for a beauty and the beast under the guise of little red riding hood - but this was unfortunately totally medium. I really enjoyed the premise and the character building but the world building still feels lacking bc there was so much vagueness and I still feel very lost on the story of the woods, how they came to be and how they function. The book also needlessly dragged at times. Overall a 3.5.

The world building and the prose was excellent and it was a nice change of pace from the shadow daddy romantasy. Would have loved more character development.
