There is just one thing that I can say about this book: it's a proof that money can corrupt even the best of us.
I don't like the characters (especially the greedy husband), but I think the point wouldn't be proven if it were otherwise.

This book left me broken-hearted..I read it in French and I loved it from the first page. What a realistic story and one that provokes a lot of thinking, because really, how much could money change us if suddenly we became millionaires? Would it be to the better or worse? What may be the things we would purchase? And can one return to a normal life after many ill-based choices, expecting no consequences?
I expected a melodramatic and romantic ending, but this one completely shocked me. Do I recommend it? Yes, definitely. In fact, I believe it is one of the most beautiful novels I read this year.

Svidio mi se pogovor, a bome i naslovnica... ne slažem se da novac generalno uništava sreću, uništi ju onoliko koliko dopustite. Zapravo, ako nešto već ne štima, možda će biti kap koja će preliti čašu. Tajne i nepovjerenje u partnere i ljude oko sebe uništit će vas. Glavni likovi su me pomalo živcirali, čista patetika, kao i ponavljanje određenih situacija.
Knjiga izabrana na eci-peci-pec, ne kao nešto što sam silno željela pročitati. Da nije povremeno bilo pojedinih lijepih misli, ocjena bi bila i manja.
