I will be the first to admit I read this book because I saw the shoes on the cover and was like...omg I want those, but I was very surprised it turned out to be a decent read! Fantastic story telling. Well written and interesting! Not the best in the world but Paula Brackston can sure write well. I plan on reading her other books too.
Nice, easy entertaining read. Enjoyed the historical fiction aspect of the story.

A fun read. Looking forward to reading the next one.
Really enjoyed this book - a very different genre for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I thought the narration was excellent, the characters and plot were enthralling.
Looking forward to the next in the series now.

Enjoyed this story of a long-lived witch and the man who made her that way who wants his payment.
I was bored with the story; not enough actual storyline to keep me interested. I read along with an audiobook and FOUR hours into it I still just couldn’t be bothered.
This was weird. As it went on it got better, but it felt like the flashbacks were more well written than present time, up until the very end. Like the last two pieces were better than the whole book. I know this is a whole series, but I’m not sure if I’ll read them.
3.5 stars overall, but I gave it 4 because of the ending. It kept me entertained just enough to read the next book.
