"The Witch's Daughter" was well written and entertaining for the most part. The story was okay for me because it lacked character depth. I never got a sense of any of the characters' motivations, and I didn't particularly connect with any of them. It felt like only reading what was happening and not how or why.

Some people will probably love this book; just not me. I had to force myself to keep reading several times. There is just something about the flow of the story that just didn't work for me. I was not gripped by the characters or the plot.

Bess’s story flows like a moving stream, moving but melancholic, a heaviness for her struggles. I loved this book but am glad it’s done, that I can lay her troubles aside and think happy thoughts.

I enjoyed this one........ But it looses stars for me because I felt like a lot of the book is just a little more fleshed out than the blurb on the back of the book. It was like I knew what was going to happen but just not how. It took a lot of the mystery out of the story for me. The last half of the book was the most entertaining for me. But I think it was rushed at the end and I wanted it fleshed out a bit more.

Boring.

DNF @ 56%. I'm sorry but this is hella boring. At about the halfway mark the MC is a nurse in the same time period as--I assume but it's not revealed yet--Jack the Ripper and it's just the most boring and overdone story with no originality.

The MC is supposed to be a witch who is somehow immortal (you find this out right away) and that's cool but the way she tells her story and attempts to blend it into present day is incredibly uneventful.

I enjoyed this book despite the negative reviews. I am actually not giving away my copy, this book will be revisited. Read it!

I really enjoyed this author's writing style and the book had a great atmosphere. I felt that a lot of things in the book were predictable.
Spoiler I could always tell early on who Gideon was masquerading as and it bothered me a little that Bess seemed to either not notice it when it was obvious.
I enjoyed reading about the characters and Bess's life even though I didn't really connect with any of the characters.
Spoiler I also felt like Bess's relationship with the last guy (sorry I forgot his name) and his character as a whole was underdeveloped so I didn't really care when he died.
The ending was a little meh but overall I liked the story. I'll continue to read the series because I like the author's writing but I hope she develops her characters a little more and that she writes better endings.
