I went into this book with extremely high expectations and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT. This story follows my favorite couple from ACoSaS Fin and Clara on a rescue mission to save Alice from the White Rabbit and they discover an even darker plot in the Unseelie Court
So much incredible spice plus action packed high stakes adventure. Characters that draw you in and make you fall in love. There was a lot of dark elements to the story and trauma/PTSD representation along with all of the Alice and Wonderland references that were so smartly placed and seamless within the story.

Fin is officially my favorite character in this series. « I have no nasty bits. I’m a delight from tongue to taint. » Iconic. We got to know him on such a deep level in this book. His insecurities, his fears, his traumas… Same thing for his relationship with Clara.
As for the Alice turn of events, very interesting. I loved to see the Unseelie way of Faerie. I would have liked actual romance, it was a super slow burn with no real HEA as for now…
What I do like about the ending, is it is open. We still have questions and mysteries. Can’t wait to see what happens in the last book!

What an adventure! Fin and Clara are back and steamy as ever. The slowburn with Alice, rabbit, and cat is amazing. If you liked the first book, you will love this one.

A fantastic follow up to, “A Court of Sugar and Spice,” with wonderful new characters to fall in love with. I am a big fan of RFK’s writing. The way she seamlessly blends elements from fairy tales while creating something fresh and original… 🤩 I am always entertained.

I really enjoyed it. I thought it would be all smut no plot, but I was very pleasantly surprised with all the world building and all the foreshadowing from the first book. I particularly enjoyed the info and descriptions of the Unseelie Kingdom and the new characters merging their stories with the old ones.

Summary:
A Court of Hearts and Hunger takes readers on a perilous, Alice-in-Wonderland-inspired adventure. Featuring Clara and Fin from A Court of Sugar and Spice, the couple must venture into the Unseelie capitol Mallaithe on a dangerous mission.
Banished from Faerie, Uncle Drosselmeyer begs Fin and Clara to rescue his maid, Alice, who has been kidnapped by the White Rabbit--an Unseelie scientist with a sinister reputation for experimenting on and dissecting humans. Not only that, but Alice holds the Tama Olc, a book of Fae spells so powerful that a malevolent possessor could cause unprecedented destruction.
With Lir and Louisa gone on royal business, F + C know they are the only ones who stand a chance of saving Alice. However, returning to Mallaithe means Fin must face serious past trauma. Still, with no alternative options and with Clara's support, he steels himself for the challenge.
Entering Mallaithe, F + C discover that the Unseelie kingdom has become even more dangerous than anyone in the Court of Dreams realized. A new ruler has ascended the Dread Court throne--a "Heart Queen" who LITERALLY eats hearts. Her victims, the "Heartless", are terrorizing the land, and the insatiable queen is seemingly invincible--posing a threat to all of Faerie.

My Thoughts:
HIGHLY CREATIVE & ENTERTAINING; I didn't want to put this book down. Cannot wait to read the JUST RELEASED third book in the series.
