Quick read, it was pretty cute. I like Litoski’s character, it took me a while to lighten up to Fab because she just seemed like she was playing games. She had commitment issues, but she did have character development. I liked the end. Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it.

Alyssa Cole does a wonderful job of balancing romance and real-world issues. Unfortunately, the usage of duel-times didn't work for me in this story.

Loved this novella. It packs a lot into a short book, a lot of emotion and romance and tension and LOVE. So far Cole is my favorite romance writer because in this and the other book I've read of hers (A Duke by Default) her characters feel round instead of flat and the backstory isn't just padding, it's good story-telling and character-building.

My Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Reading Order: Interconnected standalones. You can read in any order, but this will make more sense after book 1 at the very least.

General Thoughts: I don't read nearly enough sapphic F/F books, so this was a wonderful treat. Likotsi is a character I've been interested in since she showed up in the other books, and I was curious to learn more about Fab (the woman who caught her eye.) I enjoyed this one. My only complaint was I wanted more of their story. I felt like it ended way too soon. Second chance and dual timeline can be hard to do well, but Alyssa Cole did a good job.

I read this out of order and read this one last, so I'm curious to read more about the author and to see what she does next. If you are wanting a sapphic read featuring strong Black women, this is a good one. I just wish it was longer.

Spice Meter: ❤️‍🔥.5 Not very prominent, but there were some spicy scenes.
