Love a desperate man

Publishing review 6/10 : Penguin Classics 2006
The line spacing made this book easier to read, however the font was a bit skinny for me. Nothing wrong with the paper quality (probably a bit old) but not the best, and the paper thickness was alright but the paper quality makes the whole book a bit unsatisfying to use.
The cover was alright, not a big fan of one huge face in the middle.

like jane austen, except less boring and I didn't want to pull my hair out. Highly recommend.

feminism, as I have always been taught it meant, is the freedom for any woman to make any choice she pleases and live through it's consequences be they negative or positive. jane eyre is a character who truly embodies this definition, she lives her life being authentically herself, no matter who may disapprove. she chooses her own path, taking the negative along with the blessings on her back as she goes. she takes her freedom, sometimes peacefully, sometimes violently, and runs towards a future she covers of true happiness, true love and true fulfillment.
this was a joy to read and I definitely think anyone and everyone should experience the wonderful character that jane eyre is at least once in their life.

Read for ATS2200 - Victorian Literature.

Oh boy, this was a time. I don't think when I first read Jane Eyre back in like 2017 I was able to fully appreciate it, and since then I have developed negative associations with this book due to a former friend who was obsessed with it. So being made to reread this for uni was not what I wanted to do.

It was fine. I think I could have liked it more, but I just didn't which sucks but despite listening to the audiobook at 2x speed while playing Crusader Kings III I still think I managed to grasp more of what was going on this time than the first time haha.
