Read, technically for the essay.
Not really finding anything I will possibly use but well, background reading then.

Great read! The reviews criticizing her for not addressing specific groups (Natives, Asians, and other people of color) are funny because... this is a Black woman discussing Black issues.

But I'm sure she'd still face criticism even if she addressed those topics (Black people can never win).

Toni Morrison never fails to blow my mind. She carefully articulates and coins the term American Africanism into something I think everyone should be aware of. Highly recommend!

This book was several very dense academic essays about the history of representation in literature. The points were interesting but I found the writing to be a bit tough to get through compared with other essays I’ve read on similar topics.

Incredibly enlightening.
