What can I say, Toni Morrison said what needed to be said. Some of the content here seems obvious to me in retrospect, but she definitely paved the way for future generations of literary thinkers and how to read with a critical eye. I especially liked the last section on Hemingway.

A book every writer (and white person) should read. I feel like I'll need to read it a few more times to fully appreciate everything that Morrison is saying.
