I really don't know how to rate this book. I liked the beginning, it drew me in, then it didn't. I felt the book just dragged on about things I just wasn't interested in. Maybe if I had read [b:Interview with the Vampire|34778|Interview with the Vampire (The Vampire Chronicles, #1)|Anne Rice|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1551626696l/34778._SX50_.jpg|873132] again, I would have realized that I didn't want to read any more.
More on the history of Lestat and his search for others of his kind. Very well written.

Let's face it, Lestat, "the Brat Prince", was like nothing anyone had ever read before. I'll always give Rice blood red-roses for giving us vampire fans such a marvelously brash vampire. Lestat is the be-all-to-end-all, a legend in his own mind who wants to push the edges.
I love reading this book just to kick my inspiration into how to really write a bratty, sexy character.
Which is why I shouldn't have read it just before I read Rice's newest novel.
