Reread after almost 20 years . Used to be OBSESSED with this series as a teenager… now at 33 can’t say I feel the same, it was actually god awful now and I wonder what teenager in me loved about this series, granted it is YA so that may of have something to do with it lol but dang what not so good book .
2 stars as a reread but was easily 4.5/stars when I was a teenager

A blogging friend of mine recently suggested this Wicca series to me, and I am so happy that she did because I literally couldn't put it down, and I can't wait to read the rest!! After so many vampire and fallen angel series over the last few years, it was fun to read about witches for a change. Thanks Becky :).

Giving this a broad rating for the whole series that I read in high school. And have reread several times since then (up to like book 7 I think).

The last few books were intriguing the first time around, but upon reread I realized I only care about Morgan and Hunter, who you really don’t see much of in the end and it’s fucked up.

Anyway, love the books leading up to and involving M and H. It’s what got me into fantasy type books with romance.

A quick and easy read - a palate cleanser, honestly, when you want something a little more lighthearted. (Though it doesn’t always stay that way full disclosure.)
I remember the first time I read this series back in high school and how enamored I was by the idea of witches and magic and these beautiful ceremonies celebrating life and nature. They felt so otherworldly and mysterious. In a way they still do.
For this book, I think the real draw is Morgan though. She’s the perfect narrator because how many of us felt like her at some point in life - okay in life, happy, but a little shy a little unsure, unable to fit comfortably in our own skin. But we see her grow and stand up for herself and realize what she wants and fight for it, even if it costs her something so precious to her.
Yes there are cheesy moments and inevitable petty teen angst but you know what? Loved it lol.

The writing was a little off in some places, but it was an interesting story. I am definitely going to check out a couple more. Easy read, quick. Tiny bit of romance.

Possible Spoilers: I thought it was interesting that Bree and Morgan were BFFs, but had different "cliques" or at least that the author pointed it out several times. Maybe a foreshadow to the melt-down. Bree was out of line, but Morgan should have been more forthcoming.

Update*** I'm on the fifth one now. This series is very soap opera. Good or bad, but I'm still reading 5 later....
