When i closed the book, i thought huh - decent retelling of AIW, super unique, and went on.
Its been a couple weeks and i cant stop thinking about it. It was really a fantastic short read, unique character re-imagining, and the entire read I felt exactly how Alice felt - i felt exhausted with her at times due to the similarities and contrasts of our own society. Shes tired, way tired, but she still has to keep on running and pushing through to find true justice.
I did take it down .25 of a star, but nothing due to the writing/story itself. I’m just not a sucker for a romantic type subplot which this peeps in and out with, but nothing bad for me to dock it down a full star for.
I think this is one of the best re-tellings I have yet to come across.
