I am so glad I discovered Christina Henry. This book surprised me, creeped me out, grossed me out and touched me. Alice is a bad ass heroine coming in to her own power. Talk about taking down the patriarchy! This should be essential feminist literature. Her relationship with Hatcher, while not strictly romantic is very moving in it's steadfastness. He provided the perfect foil for her emotional growth. I loved this book and can't wait to read the next one!

Great dark reimagining of the Alice in Wonderland story. Great quick read
The different ways that Christina Henry used the story of Wonderland for her book were definitely unique. When I finished this book, I immediately searched to see if there would be a sequel, which hooray, it's expected to be released next year. The only drawback for me was the resolution with the Rabbit but to say anything more would spoil the story. I can't wait to read more about Alice and Hatcher.

It was a very, very dark book, personally, I really enjoy those kinds of books but for others these can be very hard-going, even I had to take a break from reding it sometimes.
