Every poem in this book manages to be short and concise while still conveying such deep ache from the nuances of war and unrest. It's easy to see why he's so well-known in his homeland.

wow. these poems were filled with so much beauty and sorrow, and I loved how those emotions interacted and flowed in and out of each other. Some of my favorite quotes : “Your dress waving in the wind, this is the only flag I love”; “We ought to accept that no soldier has ever returned from war alive”; “And nothing is more agonizing than having to embrace your hell, to kiss it”; “It is a strange music, death, you stand up and dance so smoothly and softly, that nobody can see you any longer.”

Powerful in that heart-tearing way. Small enough to read in one sitting, emotive enough I don't suggest doing so. Read the intro for a deeper understanding of the author and base circumstances of this work.
