Don’t come for me. Two stars don’t mean it’s bad. Just don’t mean it’s great.
This would have been a nice book for me to read when I was in high school but I need that hard intense researched and statistic based feminist theory shit these days

a great and highly accessible introduction to feminism.
very readable, and the women's passion for the feminist movement and what they believe in is absolutely contagious.
i really liked it.
of course some of it was repetitive, since it is just supposed to be a broad overview over feminism and their basic goals, values and history, but it was diverse nonetheless, which i loved—so many unique voices, so many unique stories.

some of this was super interesting. a lot of it was filler. i think it’s a good intro and i plan to read a lot of the books they mention.
This is a varied and highly useful book for the issues and triumphs women are experiencing today. There’s an introduction to feminist history as well as a ‘what to say when...’ section, which was funny but also a brilliant tool to have in your arsenal. A couple of poems / essays were a little reductive, but overall this is a great collection.

i can appreciate any ensemble of woman writers coming together for a cause, but i think i'm not in the target audience for this particular book.
It felt a bit juvenile —perfect for those first being introduced to feminist theory! but sadly that isn't me, and a lot of the time i felt like i was just being spoon-fed the same old stuff.
mad mad mad love for keira knightley's contribution though which was just out of this world insanely good.

This book was fine, it's nothing groundbreaking, but it doesn't pretend to be. I'm sure this would make a great introduction for someone younger, but personally this was nothing new.
