The Setup is the first novel that I have read by Lizzy Dent, and let me tell you I am now a fan!
In The Setup, we meet Mara, a 31-year-old woman who has spent the majority of her life doing everything she can to remain invisible. Mara tries to shield herself and maintain that invisibility by limiting her circle and not allowing people to get close to or know her, At the heart of Mara, she doesn't trust herself, and that prevents her from trusting others. Unable to trust in her ability to make decisions, Mara relies on the stars and uses astrology and horoscopes to make both large and small decisions in her life. What follows are laugh-out-loud moments of awkwardness that kept me turning the pages well past my bedtime!

The Setup was absolutely everything I didn't know I needed right now. Although it was slow to start, between the gorgeous depictions of small town Broadgate, the witty trio of unlikely friends and the steamy flatmate I absouletly couldn t put it down once it got kicking. Mara is a sweetheart and I'm so proud of her for all she overcame, even if I wish she had believed in herself as much as those stars more often than not. You will not regret picking up this cute romcom that has one of my new favorite endings
