I love it!!!
It is such a sweet book. I couldn't put it down. It hits all the feels. Zack and Sugar are totally the opposite of each other, but click so much together. I love the banter between them. Lol Their chemistry is amazing! I love how they can feel each other's presence.
Zack is such a swoon-worthy hockey player. I fell for him quick. Zack have his own secrets. How he needs Sugar is so beautiful. Zack already knows he wants Sugar way at the beginning and playing for keeps. Sugar is going through a heart break from her cheating boyfriend. She is an amazing heroine. She went through so much as a teenager, and after what her boyfriend did to her, even when they belittle her, she kept going. She strides for the highest. Together they are fire. Can't keep their hands off one another.
Highly, highly recommended!!!

I have the Kindle Unlimited program to thank again and again for introducing me to some crazy good authors that I have just absolutely fallen head over heels in love with and Ilsa is one of those authors. I stumbled upon her a year or so ago, and I have been absolutely in love with her writing since. She writes some of the best sports romances I’ve even read. And Boyfriend Bargain was so exception (and this cover was just so hot!!).
Boyfriend Bargain features one of my new favorite trope, the fake boyfriend. I love the idea of two people entering into a relationship with terms and an end date, knowing that in the end, it’s going to completely throw them for a loop and rather than shaking hands and going their separate ways, they’ll fall hopelessly and completely in love. Sugar needs Z to help her to get into law school, while Z needs Sugar to keep away the skirt chasing hockey bunnies, so it’s a win win situation for them both. What they don’t expect to find is the almost instantaneous chemistry between the two of them, and how it continues to grow and help them to heal from old wounds.
ONe thing that I have always loved about Ilsa, is her strong heroines. Sugar was born and raised on the wrong side of the tracks, and has clawed her way to the top through her own blood, sweat, and tears. She has an agenda, and she’s not letting anything hold her back, so when she’s waitlisted for Vanderbilt law school, she comes up with the perfect scheme to help her get in. Z, on the other hand, is the perfect ying to her yang, and is honestly one of my new favorite romance heroes. The star of the hockey team, he’s recently been faced with a new normal, and is haunted by the guilt of his past. Sugar is the perfect person to help to bring him to peace with the past, and to give him a strong foundation to move forward.
If you love good, strong sports romances, than Boyfriend Bargain is definitely for you. And if you haven’t read anything yet by Ilsa Madden Mills, do not hesitate to pick this one up for a few hours of entertainment!!

I really enjoyed this book. Yes like many others who have read it, the start when Sugar is basically stalking him and acts all shy then has sex with him two minutes later irked me a little but I pushed past it and fell for the damaged Zack. I liked his POV more than Sugars as she was often a little whiny...and sometimes I felt like entire chapters of hers could have not been in the story and it still would have made sense. Most of the side characters annoyed me...Eric seemed to be a complete idiot and I couldn’t get a visual on what he really looked like and Veronica-eegh she was horrible and I was waiting for the moment that Sugar gave her a bitch slap. And Reese was the worst little brother-what he did was horrible and he did redeem himself a little but he was a douche really and hardly supportive of Zack.
Don’t get me wrong I did enjoy reading this book but some parts and things irritated me. The sex was steamy and the romance after the initial hookup felt real. I don’t think this is an insta love at all...there was lust yes...but the romance thereafter is a steamy slow burn. 3.5 stars!

I received an ARC from the author for a promise of an honest review.
I loved Z and Sugar. They are realistic and relatable. I loved to see that Z is flawed and not perfect. I love that Sugar is a contradiction. She fights to accept her identity but yet she is confident in who she is. She knows who she is and want she wants but she is fight the love and acceptance from a family she doesn't know and was kept from.
This book is emotional. Z and Sugar grow as human and the love they find is overwhelming but yet grounding for them. They both learn and overcome/accpet their flaws with each other's help and from the people who truly loves them. You feel the emotions and anxiety of both Z and Sugar. Be ready for an emotional hangover.

definitely not my favourite by this author — I liked that there was mental health rep in this, you don’t get that often in books or at least done in a way that doesn’t feel wrong.
I think what put me off the most with this book was how miscommunication was everywhere. So much drama which could’ve been avoided SO easily if they chose to talk openly to each other on multiple occasions 🥲.
The fake dating aspect wasn’t as present as I would’ve personally liked but this didn’t bother me as much the previous point did.
not bad but as I said, not my favourite by this author — so far, The Revenge Pact still holds the number one spot. 🥳

This is truly one of the best books I have read this year.
Z is a boyfriend that everyone is going to covet. He shows the world his larger then life personality, but there are secrets that are slowing tearing him apart.
Sugar is just what her name implies, she is sweet and loving. But she too has a past that she doesn’t even realize is cause if her to hide from what she truly wants in life.
When these two get together they is a explosion of passion, and love. But there are things that are holding them back from really living. There struggles are going to make you love them even more.
But my favorite thing about this book is how real it is. It highlights a very real issue that millions of people face every day. It brings it to the surface and paints it in a light that will allow people to know that they are not alone that there is always someone there that they can talk to.
