Wow. What did i just read? To quote the author, “I’ve always loved that feeling of reaching a twist and suddenly realizing you’ve been viewing the whole thing the wrong way.” Describes it perfectly. I do think though, i may be a bit too young to understand this book fully. I’d love to read this again in a few years, but then it spooked me so much the first time that i don’t know if i’d want to pick it up again. We’ll see.

I can see why people like this book. The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides was a story that kept me interested the whole time and that I read literally in one sitting. I loved the way the book led me to think a certain way but revealed something in the end.

Frankly, this could have been a great Mystery, had it been authored properly. Creating too much of smoke without fire was the tactic used by the author but the mystery came dancing to me revealing itself, while I was at around 20 percent of the book. But still something compelled me to keep going on.
For his first book, I feel the author has done a good job. He should only avoid adding unnecessary details just to make the plot more complicated.
