- Sam and Celaena finally get together. FINALLY
- Arobynn is still a dick. Why would he trick Celaena like that?
- This is my favourite story in Assassin's Blade
- Lysandra gives me the ick sometimes, but other times I feel sorry for her - especially because she was sold to Arobynn
This was so cute. That's all I have to say.

Sam and Celaena made my heart ache :(
They were beautiful together, they deserved better.

I am loving these Throne of Glass novellas! They just keep getting better and better. Here are some of my thoughts so far (BEWARE of any spoilers):
Um, Arobynn is kind of a sadistic asshole... but he's also very smooth and alluring. But still an ass.
I love Sam. He's so sweet and he definitely has that sexy, tough guy thing going for him. He is just adorable to Celaena even though she can be a total brat to him.
Speaking of our MC, Celaena can be really thick sometimes! I love her wit and sarcasm, but sometimes she misses the most obvious things. I have to remind myself that even though she's an extremely accomplished assassin, she's still only a teenager. I do love the bit where she throws the dagger at Lysandra's head, though.
And Lysandra! What a little prissy snot. I couldn't stand her, even when Sam was being his thoughtful self and explaining to Celaena why Lysandra acts like a brat.
I was so glad when Celaena finally realized how controlling and manipulative Arobynn was. It was so sweet when she had the spidersilk placed in Sam's suit, and I was dying when she paid his debt off to Arobynn. Even though she is selfish and dense, she sure can be wonderful. One thing I love so much about Celaena is that she seems very real. Yes, she's an amazing assassin, but she has flaws that keep her from being Mary Sue-ish. She's vain and rather immature sometimes, which keeps her rooted in reality instead of being on a pedestal. I can't wait to see what happens next, though at the same time I am dreading reading The Assassin and the Empire because of Sam.

Of the four novellas I've read up to now, this one was the best!
It truly gives the best perspective of Arobynn, and extinguish all thoughts on the questions I had about his role in Celaena's life.
I'm still not sure why one can't read the novellas before reading Throne of Glass, but I suppose The Assassin and the Empire will answer that question, off to the next novella.

Celaena’s personality can be hard to like at times.
Arobynn shows his true character.
Arobynn shows his true character.
The hardest thing about reading these prequel novellas is I know what will happen to a few characters and I really like them so I don’t want to get to attached. But let’s face it Sam is pretty adorable, in an I can kill you kind of way, so it is impossible to not get a little attached to him.
Celaena is back from her time in the desert certain that she will pay off her debt and leave Arobynn. At least that was the plan until she sees him and he apologizes for beating her. It is complicated thing when someone saved your life and treated you like a daughter for so long.
This was another great tale centering mostly on Celaena finding a way to break free from Arobynn and become an independent young woman. She has looked to him for so long for reassurance and support but now her feelings for him have changed. Also changed, are the feelings she has for Sam and Celaena isn’t quite sure what to do with those.
Arobynn seems genuinely sorry for the way he treated her. He gives her gifts and a great contract for a job that is supposed to be to stop a slave ring from happening. But is it what it seems or something else entirely. The King of Assassins doesn’t seem like the sort to forgive and forget.
I love Sam in this novella. He really comes across as a three dimensional character and I love/hate that I know his fate. You can really see in this one all the ways Celaena will fight for those she loves and how what sacrifices she is willing to make. She has such a strong heart for someone trained to kill. I really like there love story and everything Sam tells her about his feelings for Celaena.
He brushed his lip against hers. “I love you,” he breathed against her mouth. “And from today onward, I want to never be separated from you. Wherever you go, I go. Even if that means going to hell itself, wherever you are, that’s where I want to be. Forever.”
This novella is another great glimpse into our assassin with a heart of gold. I’m reluctant to read the next novella just because the happiness can’t last and we all know it. But I also can’t wait to see how events led up to before Throne of Glass.
