Groveling was like 4/10 for me. I wish she would have stood her ground more instead of caving to physical affection immediately just because “her body still wanted him” bullshit. I like what he did I just think it was the execution. He immediately wanted her to just accept the apology and take him back because he did 1-2 things to show he was trying… sir it’s been 10 minutes that’s not really changing. Then it was like “it’s been three weeks since…” and then she just lists off all the stuff he does. Why do we not get to see those things actually playing out. Because it hasn’t been 3 weeks for me it’s been 3 pages and that simply is not enough.

Review:

I was so excited to read this book that I was counting down the days until it finally dropped. Then once I had it, I couldn't read it because I was scared that it wouldn't live up to my expectations. Turns out there was no reason to fear. Catharina Maura brought us yet again an amazing story.

Lex and Raya were like a breath of fresh air in this series. Their story felt so unique and very well matched to them. I love their characters, and them together as a couple, they filled my romantic heart to the fullest.

I loved the sweet little moments between our couple. The flowers, the coffees he prepared for her just the way she loves it and his meltdown when he saw her cry. These are some of my top moments of the book.

I loved seeing all the Windsor's reunite and be there for each other. They're becoming more and more my fictional comfort family. But Bob has to be the best side character of the book. The way he changed with Lex and how he supported Raya unconditionally, I just loved him.

Despite loving this book, there's also something that stopped me from giving it a 5 star review. For me the conflict happened to late in the story, and I didn't like the way it was dealt with. I feel something like that had to have serious consequences that just didn't happen. I can understand trauma leading to extreme actions, but it doesn't excuse them.

All in all, it was a good book that adds to an amazing series. The crumbes we got for Sierra and Xavier's book got me very excited to finally get to know what's the deal with those two.
