Ugh okay
I love Dickens. I think he is such a fun writer. BUT this book had a ridiculously dull first half. It truly took until the 60% mark for me to really get into it.
Honestly? Read a Cliff Notes version for the first 50%, then get into the book. I truly think you will find it more of a fulfilling read. The characters’ traits and motivations will be so much clearer to you than they were to me.
The ending of this book saves it from a DNF though. It was incredibly heart wrenching and beautiful.

The book plot itself was genius and I loved how there were so many parallels between books 1-3 and how things mentioned at the beginning of the book were important later on. It was almost like reading a mystery novel. The characters were well rounded and you saw how they affected each other. But I will admit this was a difficult book to get through because of the language in which it was written. It was a little confusing for me to understand and the only reason I finished it so quickly was because I read it for my english class. Charles Dickens seems to write interesting plots so I will probably try to read his other books.
Charles Dickens uses so. many. words. but the story was good and I enjoyed it.

Unexpectedly good. All others classics that I have read from around this time were a bore to read and just not interesting to me. However, this is a really good novel and I understand how it became a classic. My first Charles Dickens book, I am excited to read more from him. His writing style is timeless and, specifically for this book, I was enveloped in the plotline.
