I am 1000% pro-choice and always will be! I have never seen the argument that abortion is a men's issue and I love it! Ejaculate responsibly fellas!

This is the best non-fiction book I’ve read this year. I will reference points from this book in every future conversation regarding abortion and birth control. Thank you, @designmom for doing this research

What an amazing read that totally shifted my perspective on abortions! Obviously a very well researched read, Gabrielle Blair didn't flinch away from the dark truths of abortion rights and the way it has been framed for the entirety of history. Blair scathing opinions and views on this topic blaze through this short read, but at the same time in reading my anger and frustration ended up matching. Like, did you know Viagra has been shown to relieve period cramp pain, but researchers literally believed that period "cramps were not a public health priority." Yep, no biggie, only half of the world's population suffer through them, just like half the world's population can have erectile dysfunction.
Blair through here arguments shows the ridiculousness of our entire arguments when it comes to abortions. Women are "fertile 3 percent of the time" but are "addressing [their] fertility 100% of the time, whether they have sex or not." A women can have sex and orgasm and not get pregnant, it is only when men irresponsibly ejaculate (my new favorite term) does pregnancy become an issue. She makes an impassioned argument that had me literally gasping and shaking my head in utter frustration at how easily I have accepted so many things as truth when it comes to fertility, pregnancy and abortion. "Men assume women will do all the work of pregnancy prevention, that a woman will take responsibility for her own body and for the man's body, and women assume women will do it, too."
I appreciate that none of this book was overtly political but she made sure at the end you understood what you should be doing with this information: questioning politicians and policies and teaching men what it means to be responsible for their fertility.
Anytime I talk about abortion hear on from anyone else I will be whipping out quotes from this book and telling them that what really needs to be solved is irresponsible ejaculation. This for me is a marker of a great non-fiction, something that will stick with me and repeat in my head for years to come.
I would recommend this book for everyone! We all need to re-frame how we talk about abortion. "When it comes to birth control, and really, life in general, we favor preserving men's convenience, piece of mind, and pleasure over preventing or relieving women's suffering." So, to anyone out there who ejaculates please do so responsibly and use a fucking condom.

It is getting tiring saying “this book is a must-read” but god damnit, this book is a must-read. Important for ALL types of people to be exposed to these arguments. I especially appreciated the laundry list of things people don’t tell you can happen during pregnancy. This is a philosophy book as much as it is a tool for activists and those who care about people who can give birth.
