Not the end?!?

Ugh! I was worried about this. I thought this was a trilogy! But it’s not! This book isn’t the end! Here’s a quick recap and my two cents.

Quick recap:

Cassandra needs to learn how to use her dread powers to help defeat King Ogmios. But there is a traitor amongst their group who is trying is trying to defeat them from within. When Cassandra is captured, all seems lost. She needs to free herself and defeat the King if she has a hope of surviving.

My two cents:

Ugh!! I was really frustrated with much of this story. I didn’t like Roan keeping necessary information from Cassandra. Not everyone else being mean to Cassandra because she’s half Fae.

But the ending got me the most. I kept feeling like it wouldn’t finish in a nice tidy bow, but then I had a little bit of hope towards the end until the very last chapter.

And why won’t Cassandra give into her feelings for Roan? Why is she resisting them so hard? It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. I understood it until they had sex, but she feels their connection. Why is she still resisting it?!?

I’m going to go see if there is another book out there. Overall, I think this is still a series most people will enjoy. Give it a try if it sounds like something you would like. Happy reading y’all!!

This installment was a bit of a mess. And Gabriel. Was that even necessary?

Seems to have lost its momentum. The romance has gotten really blah. Not really feeling a connection. I'm not sure I will finish the series.

I'm been really flying through these books, I don't know what it is but something about this series is kind of addicting.  I did find that this book did begin to veer off from the original plot of the series but I didn't mind it that much.  The first two books had a strong mystery element to it but this one seems to dive straight into fantasy and leaves the whole FBI agent side of Cass off to the side.  This book provides much more insight into Cass' true heritage and finally there is some romantic development between Cass and Roan.  I kind of hated Gabriel's death in the beginning through because to be honest I still wasn't exactly sure what kind of role he was supposed to play in Cass' life (just a friend, a romantic role, or more of a familial role) and then his life got cut short.  Overall, I would say that I liked it and at this point I have to see the series through to the end.
