Fun popcorn thriller, but I guessed the twists from pretty much the beginning.

This is LITERALLY a different version of Knives Out: Glass Onion

I had high hopes for this book, but it dragged for me. I spotted the “twist” almost immediately so there wasn’t any surprise in the final act that could bring me back in. The diary parts were just too long and boring. The story started out strong, but the finale third was just crawled along at a snails pace because of the diary. I know it was for emotional purposes but it had been for shadows SO MUCH that we didn’t need it. It just felt so repetitive to the point that I didn’t even care. Honestly, it felt like a rip off of Glass Onion, without the detective. I wasn’t impressed. It’s not the worst book I’ve read this year, but it’s close to the bottom.

This was a great book!  Mean girls invited to their childhood victims bridle party. The story is told from each girls perspective and flashes from current time to when they bullied Poppy. The story is easy to follow and hard to put down!

Wish I could give it a 3.5. Yes the twist was pretty obvious from the beginning but it was still a compelling read. And even though it was confusing at time with each chapter switching to a different POV I still very much liked that style of writing.

Good twists and turns. Sometimes hard to tell the characters apart. Cool to have finished it on May 22!

toxic female friendships are fun to read about! i did guess a few of the “twists” before the reveal but regardless the “villains” monologue of why they were doing what they did was super satisfying
