She Started It is a locked room/stranded type psychological thriller that takes place on a secluded island in the Caribbean during a bachelorette party. This book was all sorts of juicy! 4 friends being reunited with the girl they bullied back in high school, lots of revenge and bloody mayhem. I enjoyed it quite more than I thought I would based on the previous reviews I’ve seen. But at the core of this revenge themed thriller is a very emotional topic and that’s bullying and the effects it can have. I’ll admit, I had tears in my eyes towards the end. I even found myself agreeing with the killer because the horrible things these girls did to Poppy were BRUTAL. So please be aware that while this book is a thriller, it does tackle some very serious topics. I’ll put the trigger warnings in a spoiler below.

If you’re looking for a summer thriller that will have you riveted, then I highly recommend this one! The book is dark, twisted, emotional, and chaotic (in the best of ways). The author even leaves the ending open to the possibility to another book which I am HOPING will happen! I’d love to read more.

I really liked the Agatha Christie vibes this one gave. Definitely not the same, but the vibe was there. Each of the characters in this novel were EXTREMELY unlikeable in the best way possible. I legitimately do not have a single character that I liked, but that is why this was done well. You're meant to hate them. I would suggest if you want an island thriller where you are guessing who the murderer is.

Really enjoyed this even more than I expected! Good summer thriller. Loved the suspense, and even though the main characters personalities are very stuck-up and annoying, it adds to the overall plot and makes the revenge even better! Huge plot twist at the end that I didn’t see coming at all! Be prepared for some sad elements as well, but worth it!

I didn’t have much hope for this book, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. It had some cheesy, somewhat unrealistic dialogue at times, but if you can get past that, this was a really good story. The twist was solid, and the ending satisfying. I love a good revenge tale and this hit the spot.
