I enjoyed the depiction of her struggles with fitting back into her family and the traditions of her people but I think too much happened in such a short space of time, given that it's a novella, so you don't have time to fully explore these themes and then the character is moving on to a different plot point.

i really like this story! there are so many great threads here. i just wish i was more drawn in by okorafor's writing style itself- there is something missing in the prose for me.

Okorafor is relentless in her imaginative world building and every time I read one of her books I am a happy reader. I loved the stakes that the second book in the Binti series introduced, but the book was just too dang short. Reading The Night Masquerade right now and will be back with my thoughts.
